Alvin Chong has been invited to perform at the prestigious 2019 Asia Song Festival in South Korea in OCTOBER. The multi-talented Malaysian will be headlining alongside WINNER, Eric Nam, April from South Korea, VCT from Vietnam, Jannine Weigel from Thailand, BRWN from Philippines and Dami Im from Australia.
Alvin holds the honour of being only the fourth Malaysian that has been invited to perform at the Asia Song Festival since it began in 2004. Previous acts included performances by local singers, Rynn Lim in 2008, Michael Wong in 2010, and Asmidar in 2017.
“It is truly such a privilege to have been invited to perform at the Asia Song Festival,” he said. “I’ve dreamt of performing on that very stage since I heard of the festival a few years ago, but it seemed unreachable back then.”
“After debuting as an artist, I’ve always been influenced by K-POP music, having seen a few of them live, like Big Bang, 2NE1, EXO, BLACKPINK and NU’EST. Their showmanship has always been incredible, and their performances never fail to leave me inspired on how I want to craft my own show in the future. To be honest, I still can’t believe I’ll be performing at ASF this year!”, he adds.
Alvin, who is currently in the midst of working on his next Malay-language single, also has hands full with his upcoming project, a Chinese New Year Movie titled ‘Men In Red’, which is set to be released next year. On top of his already busy schedule, the ambitious talent will also be starring in the XUAN web series, which will start airing in November this year.
The 2019 Asia Song Festival, which kicks off on the 11th of October for two days at the Ulsan Complex Stadium, will also feature an amazing line-up of acts, including SF9, Stray Kids, UV, AB6IX and ITZY, to name a few. For more information about the festival, log on to www.2019asf.com.
