(Kuala Lumpur December 9th) FTISLAND, the sensational South Korean vocal group that never fails to create a stir whenever they visit Malaysia, has announced their return after six-year. They will be held《2024 FTISLAND LIVE ‘HEY DAY’ IN KUALA LUMPUR 》on 24th February next year. The tickets which went on sale on 30th November were quickly sold out, showcasing the enduring popularity of FTISLAND. FTISLAND expressed their overwhelming happiness upon learning about the sold-out status and hinted at some special surprises for their “PRIMADONNAS,” (fans’ nickname) during the concert. They can’t wait to meet the “PRIMADONNAS“!
Following their successful “HEY DAY” concert held for 2 days in Seoul, Korea in August, all the tickets are sold out ! They promptly announced international tour dates in Taipei , Bangkok and Hong Kong in 2024 also garnered tremendous response, which including Malaysia was no exception. FTISLAND recently having virtual press conference with Malaysia’s media, reported by host Fly FM DJ Fifi that tickets were completely sold out by the second day, they shouted very excited: “We did not expect that there will be so many people like it, really appreciate, this concert is not only to bring everyone happiness, it’s also a rare opportunity to meet everyone after a long time, so it’s really special.”
In early September, FTISLAND’s 9th mini-album “Sage” was unveiled. “Sage” contains a message of moving forward into a broader world and navigating one’s path wisely. The title track, “Sage” with lyrics penned by Lee Hong Gi and Lee Jae Jin, encapsulates the steadfast commitment to forge ahead on one’s unique journey, offering inspiration to contemporaries navigating the challenges of this era.
Promised Surprises for “PRIMADONNAS” in Malaysia
Choi Min-Hwan also revealed that there will be a special drum solo segment prepared exclusively for the Malaysia concert, urging fans to look forward to it. Lead vocalist Lee Hong-Gi jokingly advised fans to memorize the setlist they’ve hinted at before coming, “We haven’t seen our fans for a long time, so we hope to spend this rare evening joyfully. We will make an effort to prepare our performance to spice up the night to remedy these six years of not being able to meet up with fans. ”
“It’s been six years since we last came”, and when asked about their impressions of Malaysia, Lee Hong-Gi candidly said, “We often think about Malaysia and really want to meet fans here. We hope this time is a new beginning.” Lee Hong-Gi, who loves playing golf, also expressed excitement about the golf courses in Malaysia. “Malaysia has many fantastic golf courses, and I’m looking forward to exploring them.” Lee Jae-Jin and Choi Min-Hwan mentioned that in their previous visits to Malaysia, they didn’t have time to explore more, but this time, they are eager to try Malaysia local cuisine, highlighting their desire with foods.
During the virtual press conference, FTISLAND enthusiastically spoke Bahasa Melayu, saying phrases like ‘Terima Kasih’ , ‘Selamat Petang’ , ‘Lama Tak Jumpa’. It seems like, for the sake of Malaysian fans, they have started diligently practicing Bahasa Melayu. FTISLAND also expressed, “Apart from letting fans enjoy our music, we also hope to interact more with fans. We sincerely apologize to our fans in Malaysia because we haven’t been able to come often. So, through this concert, we hope to have more communication with everyone.”
Appeal fans to wear yellow and black clothing as support
Lee Hong-Gi also mentioned, “FTISLAND has always been searching for the essence of our music, hoping to find more songs that can showcase our personalities. Over the years, there have been many changes, but the FTISLAND you know will be integrated into this ‘HEY DAY,’ and everyone shouldn’t feel unfamiliar.” They revealed plans to continue releasing new content on their YouTube channel and actively preparing for new album and concerts, hoping to meet Malaysia fans more often.
