4th November, 2019 – Singapore – Rising K-pop group OnlyOneOf has released their sophomore EP, ‘line sun goodness’. The EP is produced by some of the most respected creatives in the business, including Candace Sosa (BTS) and BADD (LOONA), together with songwriting and production input from members of the group. OnlyOneOf describes their sound as Alternative R&B with intimate vocals and sensual lyrics that explore the ambiguities of youth, caught in a world between temptation and personal growth. The EP’s lead single, “sage,” builds on the themes of OnlyOneOf’s debut track, “savanna,” which explored the ache of youthful longing and the conflict of temptation. It was composed by Candace Sosa, the writer behind BTS tracks “Euphoria,” “Magic Shop,” “I’m Fine,” and “Mikrokosmos,” and by Jaden Jeong, OnlyOneOf’s creative director.
Speaking on the release of the EP, lead vocalist Love says “Each and every member of our group worked very hard on this EP. To grow as artists and performers while staying true to ourselves as OnlyOneOf. We enjoy being deeply involved in our music and hope fans notice our efforts.”
The group has also revealed a music video for the focus track, “sage”. The executive producer for this video, Woojae Kim, also worked on their previous video for “savanna,” which has now amassed over 10 million views on YouTube. The video for “sage” revisits key imagery of “savanna” while expanding OnlyOneOf’s unique sound and providing an exciting glimpse into the future of the world of OnlyOneOf. To celebrate the release of ‘line sun goodness’, the group announced that they will be taking their first international tour to Malaysia. OnlyOneOf will be performing at various locations in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru from 22 – 24 November (more details to be announced soon). Fans will also be able to connect with the group in person through meet-and-greet sessions.
Of their upcoming trip to Malaysia, Rie says, “We’re really excited about this tour because it will allow us to perform for our international fans, see their faces, and get to know each of them as individuals! We are usually physically so far apart, we can’t wait to finally see them in person.” Love continues, “It’s our first time performing outside of Korea, too, so it will be even more special for us to meet our Malaysian fans. We’re super excited!”
OnlyOneOf consists of Nine (vocalist, beatmaker, maknae), Mill (rapper), Rie (vocalist, dancer), JunJi (vocalist, dancer), Love (leader, main vocalist), YooJung (dancer) and KB (rapper, producer). Each member was hand-picked by Jaden Jeong for their unique mix of powerful performance, charismatic personality, and exceptional composing skills. They debuted on May 28th, 2019 with the brooding single “savanna.” The song was a viral YouTube hit, gaining more than 10 million views in five months, and set OnlyOneOf apart as one of 2019’s rookies to watch. They are described by Jeong as “the future of K-pop.”
