We were given the chance to attend B.A.P’s live recording set of their MTV Sessions, and we were brimming with excitement at witnessing the 1st Korean act to be featured on the famed music series.

Intimate setting? Check.

Passionate and screaming fans? Check.

Hot performances? Check, check, check.

MTV could not have chosen a better group to tell the world what the Korean music industry has to offer – from their perfectly coiffed hair to the delightful versatility of excelling at both strong, dance tracks and soft, mellow ones, we dare say the boys were the perfect pick!  The 6 talented members of B.A.P certainly delivered their stages with flawless vocals and dancing, the perfect representatives of the Korean music industry on a platform that is better known internationally.

Fans also had a huge part to play in the success of the recording. They were passionate, sang along at the top of their lungs (and in tune, too!), and had come prepared with their Matoki light sticks and fanboards. MTV certainly provided fans with the opportunity to witness their favourite artistes performing their favourite songs on a platform unlike any they would ever be exposed to. Having watched B.A.P perform “Excuse Me,” “Hurricane,” “Where Are You?” “Lovesick” and ” 1004 (Angel)” in such close proximity was a vastly different experience from watching them in a bigger venue. We think this will stay in the minds of the fans present for a long time to come.

As they say, time passes really quickly when you’re having fun and before we knew it, the boys had said their last goodbyes. It would have been amazing to have the boys showcase their musicality through remixed or acoustic versions of their songs, but we have to admit that it was also great that MTV stuck to showcasing Kpop’s signature song-and-dance-and-mellow-ballads style during MTV Sessions’ first Kpop act offering.
