[Coverage] A Splendid Meet with MXM at ‘Match Up’ Fan Meeting in Malaysia

The South Korean duo MXM or ‘Mix and Match’ are made of Im Young Min and Kim Donghyun and they have visited Malaysia for the very first time earlier this May for their ‘Match Up’ fan meeting. Gaining immense popularity through their participation in the Korea’s idol survival reality TV show, ‘Produce 101 Season 2‘, the duo debuted shortly after the show ended with single, ‘I’m the One’ under Brand New Music, a home to artists like San E, Verbal Jint, BumKey and KittiB.

During the press conference, the boys greeted the media with ‘Apa Khabar’ as they flash their cute smile, charming the venue at once. Young Min chose Jay Park as his role model, wishing to try a new concept like a rock and roll band or hip hop for their next genre. Donghyun admitted that he didn’t really know how to play music instruments very well, but he would love to try doing a band concept too. The duo also made a wish to collaborate with their senior in the next album.

MXM ‘Match Up’ fanmeeting were held at HGH Convention Center with at least 1600 fans attending the event. The fan meeting started with their performance of ‘I’m the One’ and ‘Perfectly Perfect’ as the opening, delighting fans to a loud cheer. MXM later on greeted the fans in Malay several times, they seems to be putting a lot of effort to learn Malay to interact with the local fans.

Highlights of the event includes the game session where the fans were tested on their knowledge about MXM, MXM also picked a post-it note by fans who requested them to be called ‘noona’. MXM performed a sexy dance and Young Min doing the pose of ‘Bbangmin‘ and ‘Godzero‘. They also did a Draw & Guest, showing off their skills on drawing and made fans guess the subject they drew. Lucky fans won themselves autographed poster and the said drawings.

They later performed more song of ‘ Errday’ ‘Just Come out’ , ‘Gone Cold’ and ‘I Just Do’.

Fans prepared a video message for them, and as a return to the fan’s love, they sang a cute version of ‘Rasa Sayang‘ wearing a traditional sampin. Making quite a memorable moment with Malaysian fans.

Before ending the fan meeting. they sang Diamond Girls and promised to work harder and visits Malaysia again sooner. Dong Hyun also expressed their gratitude to everyone who had come and cheer for them.
