If you’re a Malaysian and you love to travel, MATTA (Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents) Fair is an important yearly event that you wouldn’t want to miss. This will be the most anticipating travel event in Malaysia as it’s been highlighted in the Ministry of Tourism calendar every year. All affordable deals offered would be promoting local and international destination, where the visitors can compare and decide on which country they should explore next. As a part of well-recognised and raising country to visit, Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO), took this opportunity to be more engaged with the public in promoting new places and culture diversity of what Korea has to offer. This would be a good approach for the public to get to know more tourist destinations, events according to seasons as well as getting free vouchers at the booth.
To make this year event more interesting, plenty of events lined-up has been prepared which included exclusively inviting the Korean Hip-Hop star, Kang Gary, or mostly known for his appearance in ‘Running Man’ reality show. A large numbers of fans had gathered around since morning just to get the glimpse of Gary, to be on stage to welcome all the fans to Korea. Appeared in black outfit, he greeted the fans as well as the public audiences who were so thrilled to see him, but this time without the other ‘cast’ members. Gary shared with the audiences that he would suggest they have a visit to Jeju Island as it is the most wonderful island in Korea with its natural preserved beauty and has received a recognition as one of the UNESCO Global Geopars. Other than that, he also supported the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics which is going to be held in 2018. Through the hour, he also fulfilled the photography session with the lucky fans and even tried to rap in Bahasa Malayu as requested by the fans. Such a charming guy!
Not to be overwhelmed by only having ‘hallyu’ wave, KTO also invited a talented group called, ‘The Painters Hero’ for the opening ceremony. Their amazing performance of panting the canvas while dancing and doing a gag show really caught the audience’s attention by being very unique throughout the show. It is indeed something refreshing to be able to introduce this kind of artistry work as part of the inimitable culture that Korea has.
Later, a fashion show with ‘Hanbok’, the traditional/cultural Korean dress had been presented to the public. The fashion is more of a combination of traditional and fusion design that highlights new trendy ways of improvise the traditional version of it, but at the same this, it’s still keeping the original concept of the Hanbok itself. To make it more fascinating, the fashion show was joined by no other the famous Malaysian model, Amber Chia who is recently been appointed as a K Beauty ambassador. Way to go Amber Chia!
We are truly feel grateful by KTO invitation as this would be like a 3-in-1 events all together with one concept of introducing what Korea has to offer despite to be recognised for its music stream. This event would also added up a new benchmark for the exhibitors to be more competitive and creative in promoting the tourism in their countries. We can’t wait to see what MATTA and KTO have to offer for the next year event!
